Witness Jacob Elordi portraying the Creature in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein

Throughout the marketing of Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, Netflix has kept Jacob Elordi’s interpretation of the Creature hidden from view. The most comprehensive look thus far is a promotional image featuring the Creature enveloped in snowy darkness, primarily obscured by furs, with just the upper half of his face visible, showcasing pale, scarred skin.

Netflix has now unveiled a new character poster of the Creature, presenting the clearest depiction to date of del Toro’s vision of Frankenstein’s monster. The poster unveils the Creature’s complete visage, resembling a multitude of faces stitched together. His hand is predominantly devoid of skin, revealing bones and muscles, while a red eye emerges from his flowing hair, conjuring the image of a gothic, romantic hero.

The favorable critical reception from the film’s debut at the 2025 Venice International Film Festival and its presentation at the Toronto International Film Festival has increased excitement. Mashable’s Kristy Puchko characterized Frankenstein as “a masterpiece” and commended Elordi’s performance, remarking on his capacity to express intent and emotion despite prosthetic scars and pale skin. Elordi elevates beyond his striking looks to embody del Toro’s ideal monster.

Frankenstein premieres in select theaters on Oct. 17 and will be accessible on Netflix starting Nov. 7.
