Apple is tackling concerns related to the interface of the iOS Photos app. At present, Photos has areas that could be enhanced.
During the WWDC keynote on Monday, Apple revealed revamped designs for the Camera and Photos applications, which are set to debut with iOS 26 later this year. These enhancements reflect the “liquid glass” theme presented at WWDC, incorporating see-through UI components.
The revamped camera app retains its capabilities but looks more refined. It provides two selections at the bottom: photo and video, with additional choices like panorama and portrait mode available through swiping. Adjustments to resolution are now more swift with a tap near the top of the screen.
The Photos app, which has been under scrutiny since last year’s redesign, has seen substantial upgrades. It now showcases two tabs at the bottom: library and collections. The library likely houses all content from the phone, while collections feature user-created folders. While its operation remains largely unchanged, navigating is now significantly simpler.
It is hoped that Apple continues to uphold these enhancements in the coming year.
The WWDC keynote also unveiled a 3D photos functionality, generating a holographic effect. We eagerly anticipate experiencing it in person.
