As YouTube integrates additional AI videos, the site is improving its own AI features, providing AI-driven suggestions to select users. The newly introduced AI-based search tool is available to Premium users on their mobile devices. When looking up shopping, locations, or activities in a defined area, users may encounter an AI-generated video carousel displaying results. Not every search will activate a carousel, but those that do are expected to showcase more pertinent videos.
For example, entering “best beaches in Hawaii” on YouTube will yield an AI-created carousel featuring clips and descriptions from different videos. Furthermore, YouTube is broadening its conversational AI tool to include certain non-Premium users in the United States, allowing them to ask for additional information, related suggestions, and summaries.
In April, Google revealed an AI-enabled feature for YouTube, providing yet another method to uncover content and associated topics. YouTube, which is part of Google, gains from Google’s AI search capabilities, such as AI Overviews and AI Mode, driven by Google’s Gemini AI models. Following trials of AI search on YouTube with some U.S. users, the official launch is now in effect. Premium users can experience it firsthand.
