Every December, Spotify unveils Wrapped, a recap of all the tracks you’ve enjoyed throughout the year. But what time frame does it encompass? Spotify offers users shareable screenshots suitable for social media, showcasing their favorite genres, artists, and songs, accompanied by a playlist of their most listened-to tracks.
This year brings even more features for users, such as a listening age, favorite albums, preferred audiobook genres, clips from authors and podcasters, a fan leaderboard, clubs, a listening archive, and a new interactive element named Wrapped Party.
With all this information, you may be curious: When does Spotify Wrapped commence tracking for 2026? Per Spotify, the tracking for 2026 Wrapped starts in January, providing several weeks of music listening that won’t be reflected in the next year’s Wrapped data.
Spotify doesn’t disclose a specific date, but Molly Holder, the senior director of product for personalization at Spotify, shared with Mashable in a 2024 Wrapped press briefing that they “begin at the start of January with all of your listening that kicks off right at the year’s beginning, and it continues collecting data until a few weeks prior to the launch of the Wrapped product.” The company reaffirmed a similar timeline at a 2025 press event. Thus, the Wrapped for 2026 will track from Jan. 1 to a few weeks ahead of its launch.
This presents an excellent chance to indulge in the music you’re most embarrassed by. Not me, however. Nickelback’s “Rockstar” is proudly played in this home.
