What is Connections: Sports Edition?
The NYT‘s newest daily word game, initiated in collaboration with The Athletic, demands players to categorize four words that share a commonality. Connections is accessible on web browsers and mobile gadgets.

Each puzzle consists of 16 words separated into four categories. These groups may comprise book titles, software, country names, etc. While several words might appear to fit together, there is only one accurate grouping.
If a player successfully categorizes all four words, those words are eliminated from the board. An incorrect guess is counted as a mistake — players can make up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to identify connections more effortlessly. Each group has its own color code: yellow is the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, results can be shared via social networks.
