Motorola and Xiaomi Set to Unveil Competitors to Apple AirTag Soon

Apple’s AirTags are widely recognized as GPS tracking devices, yet new challengers are surfacing. Motorola and the Chinese technology powerhouse Xiaomi are reportedly working on location trackers to compete with AirTags, according to two independent reports. The forthcoming device from Xiaomi is called the “Xiaomi Tag,” as disclosed in a Weibo post by tech insider Repeater 002. Unfortunately, no further information is available, but this would represent Xiaomi’s initial venture into location tracking devices.

Conversely, Motorola currently provides the Moto Tag. Nonetheless, Android Headlines has acquired the first promotional image of an unannounced Moto Tag 2, showcasing a similar circular design to its predecessor while introducing two new color options: orange and beige. The report indicates that the updated version will likely deliver improved tracking accuracy and extended battery life relative to the original.

The launch dates for these devices are still uncertain, but their development seems to be in progress.
