What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s latest daily word challenge, in collaboration with The Athletic, invites players to categorize four words that share a commonality. Connections is accessible on web browsers and mobile platforms.

Every puzzle consists of 16 words sorted into four categories. These collections may involve book titles, software, names of countries, etc. Although several words may appear to coincide, there is only one accurate grouping.

If a participant successfully organizes all four words, those terms are eliminated from the board. An incorrect guess is deemed a mistake — players can commit up to four errors before the game concludes.

Players are allowed to rearrange and shuffle the board for simpler connections. Each grouping is color-coded: yellow is the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can share your findings on social media.
