What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s latest daily word puzzle, in partnership with The Athletic, evaluates sports knowledge. Connections is accessible on web and mobile platforms, asking players to categorize four words that share a common association.

Each challenge comprises 16 words organized into four groups. These groups may encompass anything from literary titles to software or names of nations. Although several words may seem to align, there is only one accurate solution.

If a player successfully finds all four words in a category, those words vanish from the board. Mistaken guesses are counted as errors, with a maximum of four allowed before the game concludes.

Players have the option to rearrange and shuffle the board for easier identification of connections. Each group is assigned a color code: yellow is the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, results are shareable on social media.
