Utilize These 5 Terms to Render Wordle Almost Unbeatable

At the height of the NYT Games phenomenon in 2020, new Wordle tactics surfaced frequently. Gradually, players have honed their approaches, making it simpler to keep up daily streaks.

Nevertheless, there remains more to uncover in the game. Recently, users on social media stumbled upon what appears to be an infallible technique to eliminate incorrect letters and apply anagram abilities.

Per a viral X post from user and Wordle tactician @rudy_betrayed, you can kick off with these five terms: CHUNK, FJORD, VIBEX, WALTZ, and GYMPS. The post has amassed 22,000 bookmarks.

[Note: The term “GYMPS” is described by Oxford Languages as “twisted silk, worsted, or cotton with cord or wire interlaced, primarily used as upholstery trimming.” It is also a high-scoring entry in Words With Friends but does not qualify in the Merriam Webster Scrabble lexicon. It may be applicable for Quordle, though.]

This approach employs 25 distinct letters in the initial five guesses, leaving out only the letter Q, resulting in one position available to determine the correct word. Players utilizing this method claim it’s almost impossible not to pinpoint the word among the grey tiles.

Some mental effort is still necessary, such as managing letter clusters that have several anagrams. It won’t always be beneficial if the word is unknown from the start, as that’s part of Wordle’s challenge. Some users on social media contend that attempting to “hack” the game for a higher score may diminish the enjoyment.

However, if you are already an adept Wordler, particularly during tough weeks like “MYRRH,” this technique is certainly worth a shot.
