A fresh e-reader debuts in the US market: Presenting the DuRoBo Krono e-reader

Step aside Kindle, a fresh competitor has emerged in the e-reader arena. DuRoBo’s Krono e-reader is poised for launch in the United States and Europe in 2026, making its debut at CES.

The Krono e-reader, which is also referred to as the ePaper Focus Hub by DuRoBo, is a sleek and robust device. It measures 6.1 inches, making it nearly portable and smaller than the basic Kindle.

Its innovative dial contains all controls, enabling you to navigate menus, modify settings, and capture voice notes. It features a Carta 1200 HD screen with a 300 ppi resolution, which is on par with Kindles.

Beyond just reading books, the Krono allows for internet browsing and music listening. It comes with 128GB of storage, substantially higher than the usual 32GB found in other e-readers. Thanks to its open Android operating system, you can download applications like Spotify, Reddit, Gmail, Google Drive, and others. It includes a built-in speaker and Bluetooth connectivity for audio playback.

Although the Krono may not suit everyone’s taste, particularly those e-reader users who favor distraction-free devices, it creates a link between a tablet and an e-reader. Its monochrome display may deter excessive scrolling.

The Krono e-paper gadget will be featured at CES 2026 and is set to hit the U.S. and European markets in late January. Its retail price will be $279.99, and it will be available for purchase on DuRoBo’s website.
