Nikki Glaser’s Golden Globes Monologue Ruthlessly Mocking Celebrities and the Government

Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser commenced the awards ceremony with a self-aware monologue, alluding to current news events that are diverting everyone’s attention.

“Indeed, the Golden Globes: undeniably, the most significant event occurring in the world right now,” Glaser remarked. “I cannot fathom the level of star power we have assembled in this room tonight. It’s outrageous. There are numerous A-listers. And by A-listers, I refer to individuals featured on an A-list that has been extensively redacted.”

Glaser also humorously proclaimed a few Golden Globe winners for fictitious categories, honoring Best Editing to the U.S. Justice Department and Most Editing to CBS News.

“CBS News: America’s latest venue for BS news,” Glaser joked.

Glaser devoted some time to roasting the attendees of the Golden Globes, including a playful jab at One Battle After Another actor Leonardo DiCaprio for his notorious tendency to date only women under 30 — seemingly the sole information Glaser could unearth about him.

“I tried not to [make that joke], but honestly, we don’t know anything else about you, man,” Glaser stated, addressing DiCaprio from the stage. “Seriously, there’s nothing more. Like, share a bit! I’m serious! I searched. The most thorough interview you’ve ever conducted was in Teen Beat magazine back in 1991. Is your favorite food still pasta, pasta, and more pasta?”
