All Foldable Smartphones Anticipated or Theorized for 2026

A couple of years back, foldable smartphones appeared to be a notion plucked from the realm of science fiction. Today, the market is so filled that it’s crucial to discuss them. The year 2026 is poised to be crucial for foldables, which have developed into their own unique market segment. Prominent smartphone manufacturers in the West, including Samsung, Apple, Google, and Motorola, are rumored to unveil foldables in 2026. Some may be revisions of current models, while others will be completely novel devices.

Here are the foldable smartphones anticipated for 2026.

All foldable phones that are planned or speculated for 2026

This list may grow as the year unfolds.

Several from Samsung

Samsung has led the foldable market outside China, investing significantly in this design over the past five or six years. This trend is expected to persist in 2026, with a minimum of three new foldables possibly launching from Samsung.

First up is the Galaxy Z TriFold, which was introduced in Asia last year and is expected to have an unspecified early 2026 release in the West. It boasts a 6.5-inch cover screen, Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, and a triple camera arrangement akin to the Z Fold 7, but with dual hinges for a more expansive interior screen. It stands as Samsung’s largest foldable to date and the first of its kind in the West. No release date or pricing information is available yet, but it is anticipated to be costly.

Samsung is also expected to refresh the Z Flip and Z Fold series. The Z Flip 8 and Z Fold 8 are rumored to be lighter and feature enhanced battery capacity. Additionally, Samsung is allegedly developing a “Wide Fold” device, similar to the Z Fold series but with a bigger tablet-like unfolded display and a smaller exterior screen.

In total, Samsung could unveil four foldables in 2026.

Motorola is broadening the Razr range

Last year, Motorola introduced three clamshell-style Razr foldables: the Razr, Razr Plus, and Razr Ultra. While updates to this collection are a possibility, there are currently few rumors or leaks. Nevertheless, Motorola is not taking a backseat in 2026.

At CES, Motorola unveiled the Razr Fold, its inaugural book-style foldable phone. It includes a 6.6-inch cover display, an 8.1-inch internal display, and three 50MP rear cameras, complemented by Motorola AI features. Information on pricing and availability is yet to be disclosed.

iPhone Fold

This marks a substantial shift. Apple has traditionally concentrated on fine-tuning its standard iPhone lineup, but rumors indicate that a foldable iPhone could debut as early as late 2026. It’s anticipated to feature a 5.5-inch exterior screen that opens into a 7.8-inch interior display, resembling a combination of two iPhone Air devices. It may include four cameras: two on the back, one on the inside, and one on the front. Apple has kept other features under wraps, but the foldable iPhone increasingly seems poised for release this year.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold

Last year, Google made its return to the foldable segment with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Reports suggest that the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, codenamed “yogi,” is in the works. Details are limited, but it is expected to showcase the next generation of Google Tensor chips along with camera enhancements. Additional information may surface during Google’s annual Pixel refresh in the summer.

More choices if you’re in China

While the aforementioned phones should become available in the West, a range of foldables are launched exclusively in Asia by companies like Huawei, Oppo, and Honor.

Oppo is speculated to introduce two foldables in 2026, the Find N6 and N7. The N6 is set to be a book-style foldable, while the N7 is anticipated to be a wide-style foldable. The N6 is rumored for an early 2026 release, with the N7 expected later in the year.

Honor intends to release the Magic V7, succeeding the ultra-thin Magic V6. It will incorporate a superior chip and a larger battery. Huawei is reportedly developing the Pura X2, a distinctive flip-style foldable with a 16:10 aspect ratio inner display, scheduled for a second-quarter 2026 launch.

As the year advances, additional foldables are likely to be announced, positioning 2026 as a crucial year for the foldable market.
