Stephen Colbert Asserts Trump is Infiltrating Minnesota

The Trump administration has stationed more than 2,000 federal immigration agents in Minnesota, with plans for an additional 1,000 to be dispatched by the Department of Homeland Security, despite local leaders in Minneapolis requesting their withdrawal.

On The Late Show Tuesday evening, host Stephen Colbert remarked: “So he is obviously encroaching upon Minnesota. Has anyone informed him that there’s no oil there? Because the most he’ll obtain is 50 million barrels of cream of mushroom soup.”

Demonstrations against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have proliferated throughout the United States following the death of 37-year-old mother Renee Good at the hands of an ICE officer in Minneapolis last week, which Colbert termed “just the most recent and truly shocking mistreatment of that wonderful city by Homeland Security.”

“If you’ve been active on social media, you’ve witnessed all the distressing actions these officers have engaged in, dragging individuals from cars, storming homes and schools, both menacing and then inflicting violence,” Colbert stated during his monologue, before referring to a viral video clip. “You may have also spotted this, an ICE officer sprinting on the sidewalk and then totally eating it.”
