Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile Service Interruptions: Ongoing Outage Updates

A major telecommunications disruption is underway, with many reports indicating significant service interruptions across AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Numerous Verizon users have reported their devices going into SOS mode, although 911 calls via satellite should remain functional.

As per Downdetector, user error reports started to increase around 11:55 a.m. ET on Wednesday. (Note: Downdetector and Mashable are both under the ownership of Ziff Davis.) While some users on AT&T and T-Mobile have also mentioned problems, it appears that Verizon customers are the most affected. On X, “Verizon” quickly became a trending topic as users looked for updates.

Information remains scarce as the outage unfolds. Verizon is the sole carrier to officially acknowledge the situation.

In a message on X, the company declared: “We are aware of an issue affecting wireless voice and data services for some customers. Our engineers are engaged and working to identify and resolve the issue swiftly. We recognize the importance of dependable connectivity and apologize for the disruption.”

This announcement has been reiterated in responses to several users who reached out to Verizon Support for help. Mashable contacted Verizon for a statement and received the same message that was shared on social media.

Downdetector categorized the Verizon outage as “Very High,” with a peak of 140,850 error reports noted within a 15-minute timeframe on Wednesday afternoon. Among Downdetector users, 63 percent highlighted “phone problems,” whereas 31 percent reported a “total lack of signal.”

Downdetector additionally mentions that Verizon user error reports have surged in New York City, Houston, Atlanta, and Charlotte.

T-Mobile has yet to release an official statement. In a reply to a user on X, the company mentioned that it is not currently facing any significant coverage problems on its network.

There has been no formal comment from AT&T so far.

This situation is ongoing and will be updated as needed.
