What’s Connections?
The NYT‘s newest daily word game is a hit on social media. The Times attributes the creation of the game and its inclusion in the Games section to associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu. Connections is playable on both web browsers and mobile devices, where players must organize four words that share a connection.

Every puzzle features 16 words split into four groups. These groups can encompass everything from literary works to software names or nations. Although many words may appear connected, only one response is accurate.
When a player successfully identifies all four words in a category, those words are eliminated from the board. Incorrect guesses are counted as errors—players may make up to four errors before the game concludes.

Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to identify connections more effectively. Each grouping is color-coded: yellow is the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. As with Wordle, results may be shared with friends on social media.
