The teaser trailer for the psychological thriller *Verity* has debuted, offering a first look at the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s popular 2018 novel.

*Verity* follows writer Lowen Ashleigh (Dakota Johnson), who is hired as a ghostwriter for the celebrated author Verity Crawford (Anne Hathaway). Once she arrives at the Crawford residence, Lowen discovers what appear to be notes for Verity’s autobiography, which include disturbing revelations about the author’s husband Jeremy (Josh Hartnett). Lowen soon finds herself entangled with the Crawford family, facing secrets, deception, and manipulation in her pursuit of the truth.

*Verity* will hit theaters on October 2.
