DoorDash Incident: Driver Reportedly Sprays Substance on Meal

Food delivery can turn challenging late at night. This scenario unfolded in McCracken County, Kentucky, earlier in December for a couple. According to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, a local husband and wife placed a DoorDash order “shortly after midnight.” After consuming the food, they experienced burning sensations in their mouths and noses. Security doorbell footage captured the Dasher spraying a substance on the food prior to handing it over to them.

The Dasher, Kourtney N. Stevenson, asserted that she was attempting to use pepper spray on a spider due to her fear of these creatures. Nevertheless, the Sheriff’s Office indicated it was improbable to encounter a spider outside in the 35-degree temperatures that evening. Stevenson was taken into custody on felony charges of battery and tampering with consumer products.

The lesson learned is to always verify that your food appears, smells, and feels safe to eat before consuming it.
