Revised on April 28 at 2:12 p.m. ET — Apple has recognized problems with its iOS Weather application on Tuesday afternoon. The Apple support page notes a current outage, stating, “This service might be slow or inaccessible.”
Users of iPhones in the United States are facing challenges when trying to use the Apple iOS Weather app on Tuesday afternoon.
For numerous iPhone users, checking the Apple Weather application is a part of their daily routine, but for some, the app is failing to load. On platforms like X and Reddit, perplexed and irritated iPhone users are sharing their experiences with Weather, with a few stating that they cannot remember the app ever being down before.
Several Mashable editors in the United States experienced difficulties accessing the app; however, one editor succeeded in getting it to open, although it required about 10 seconds to load. As of the time of this writing, the Apple online support page displays a current outage concerning the Weather app.
Mashable reached out to Apple for a statement, and we will provide updates to this story if we hear back.
DownDetector, the service where users can report issues with well-known websites and applications, does not have a listing for the Weather app. Nonetheless, DownDetector has recorded sudden increases in reports for both The Weather Channel application and Apple Support.
Internet outages have become frequent over the past year, although significant outages within the Apple ecosystem are still uncommon.
(Disclosure: DownDetector and Mashable are both subsidiaries of the same parent company, Ziff Davis.)
